10 Easy and Healthy Recipes to Incorporate Into Your Diet

Looking for easy and healthy recipes? We’ve gathered a bunch of our favorites for you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Staying fit is important, and these days it may seem like that’s harder than ever. Work is too long, the pay is too low, and fatty food is too cheap.

How are you supposed to be healthy anymore? They say that sometimes to do something right, you have to do it yourself. Taking your diet into your own hands may be the best choice here.

However, we’re here to offer guidance. We’ve come up with a whole list of healthy recipes that are also easy to make. We’ll talk more about some of these recipes in the paragraphs below.

1. Quinoa Casserole

There are a few different versions of this recipe. Some prefer to use chicken as the mainstay of the casserole, while others prefer broccoli. Whichever you choose, you’ll still be cooking a healthy meal.

This thing is loaded with cheese, and some even choose to add bacon bits.

This recipe has a lot of dairy products in it, but there are plenty of vegan substitutes out there, so with a little work, this dish can be enjoyed by anyone.

2. Salmon Baked in Foil

There’s no shortage of healthy salmon dishes out there, and salmon baked in foil is one of the most popular. Even some of the most famous chefs have been known to prepare it.

The basic premise of the dish is simple enough. It’s a matter of blending olive oil, oregano, salt, pepper, thyme, lemon juice, shallots, and tomatoes. Then, you put the mixture over a salmon filet, wrap the filet in foil, and bake it.

3.  Fettucine Alfredo

The original version of this recipe isn’t very healthy, but a few simple changes can make it a lot better. This recipe involves using low-fat milk and butter. Again, vegan substitutes probably work just as well.

If you really want to cut back on the calories, you can substitute the noodles. Plenty of pasta recipes are using strips of zucchini, or ‘zoodles’ instead.

4. Smoothies

Smoothies are one of the simplest, and tastiest, recipes out there. Just choose some fruit, milk, yogurt, and anything else you want.

Don’t think you have to use dairy products, though. You can use almond milk and even vegan yogurt. You might even use peanut butter if you have a sweet tooth.

After that, throw it in a blender and that’s that. You now have a delicious drink with plenty of nutrients that you can enjoy anytime you want.

5. Sloppy Joes

Sloppy joes are a classic recipe and one that we’re happy to report has been updated into a healthier version. The trick is to replace some of the meat in the sloppy joes with beans.

This makes the dish much healthier because it cuts back on the red meat. Studies have shown that red meat poses all manner of health risks when you eat it too often.

In addition to red meat, this recipe reduces the amount of sugar and ketchup.

6. Stuffed Peppers

This is yet another recipe with a number of variations to it. The change comes in what the peppers are stuffed with. Some prefer to stuff them with spinach and other vegetables, while others prefer low-calorie meat, such as chicken.

Like many of the recipes on this list, there is some dairy in most versions. That being said, there is plenty of great vegan cheese out there. You can even make your own if you want.

7. Grilled Shrimp

Much like salmon or quinoa, shrimp is a popular ingredient in diet cooking. A quick look around will turn up no shortage of dish ideas dedicated to shrimp.

Like many types of seafood, shrimp has very few calories. It’s also high in protein and antioxidants that can help keep your body healthy.

Plus, you don’t need to worry about certain ingredients being added into your shrimp since it’s illegal to grow or import shrimp treated with antibiotics in the US. That’s one less ingredient you have to worry about.

8. Meatballs

Meatballs could be a recipe by themselves, or they could serve as part of another dish, like pasta or sandwiches. You can be creative, not just in how you serve the meatballs, but also in the meatballs themselves.

Many prefer to make the meatballs out of chicken, while others make them out of zucchini. That’s just two ways to do it. There’s no limit to what you can turn into ‘meatballs’ if you put your mind to it.

9. Pizza

Most of us wouldn’t think pizza can be healthy, but it can be. As with most of the items on this list, it’s simply a matter of getting creative and substituting a few ingredients.

Most of the process involves taking out the meat and adding leafy vegetables and tomatoes.

If you’re in the mood for something sweeter, you can opt for fruit pizza instead. Fruit pizza is a delicious concoction of fruit, dough, and yogurt or cream cheese that could make anyone consider going vegetarian.

Some of the Best and Simplest Healthy Recipes

There is no shortage of healthy recipes out there for any meal. We’ve mentioned only a few of the above.

That being said, there are a whole host of great recipes out there. We didn’t have the space to put nearly all of them on this list, so we encourage you to do more research if you’re interested.
